“Lunch and Learn” series of webinars focused on issues, pest and disease updates, and technology of interest for the Colorado wine industry.
Description
Diseases are a complicated orchard and vineyard problem. By the time symptoms are observed, it’s too late but spraying on a calendar can get cost prohibitive. Join the CSU Viticulture Extension team and Lexi Heger as she describes her work using a small machine called a spore trap to monitor levels of fungal disease in vineyard systems.
The event will be held Virtually and take place on September 26th from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM MT.
Preregistration on Eventbrite is required to receive Zoom log-in information: https://col.st/dwUYp
Registration closes September 26th at 11:00AM to allow time for delivery of Zoom information.

Speaker Biography
Lexi is a fourth year PhD candidate in the Miles Small Fruit and Hop Pathology lab at Michigan State University where she studies all things grape downy mildew and dabbles in powdery mildew and botrytis management. A portion of her dissertation focuses on spore trapping or air sampling in vineyards where she spent two field seasons sampling for powdery, downy, and botrytis in a test vineyard using 12 rotating-arm impaction samplers and a few other technologies, like the classic Burkard sampler. This experiment intended to identify if sampling could be done for all three pathogens at once and then tested using a single molecular assay to help growers identify multiple problems at once!
